Brian Moote along with being a stand up comedian possesses degrees in Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Human Resources from the University of La Verne, as well as a Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College. He has spent a number of years working in fields that possess high levels of stress and have high burn out rates, such as foster placement services and special education. He has a very in-depth personal knowledge of working in fields where individuals are under compensated and over worked due to their personal connection and dedication to
achieving the mission of their organization.
People who work in social justice generally do so because they are personally connected to the cause itself and are willing to do what it takes no matter what in order to achieve their mission. Brian has performed at a number of social justice and non-profit events and has developed a comedy routine tailored to social justice organizations that humorously addresses the high stress environment and reminds us also reminds that it is ok to laugh... when things are funny. He stresses that "burn out" is the ultimate enemy of social justice and that no matter how hard you work, you are no good to your organization, or your mission if you "burn out" due to being over worked.
Brian has performed at numerous non-profit events and fundraisers across the country and always finds a way to inject humor into serious events in a fun and entertaining way. Some of his most recent clients include performing at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts' Annual Breakfast and at the Not For
Sale Campaign's Youth Advocacy Event in Washington D.C. He is currently researching and writing a book on the importance of monitoring "burn out" and how to use vacation and recreation in a constructive manner that fuels the social justice fire and helps one achieve their organization's mission more effectively. Brian has performed at a number of events and will build one to suit your specific organizational needs, including time of day, venue and the size of your audience.
